Hello cosmic cuties,
Back to school was always my favorite time of year. In its honor this week’s Magical Musings is a book list — book nerds, thank me later.
Also in the back to school spirit, I am offering a special tarot reading through Labor Day weekend that will give you a fresh look and revitalized outlook on your goals. Or bundle with a birth chart reading. As always DM me if you have questions.

Cosmic forecast
We’re officially in the Mercury Retroshade energy. This is the two weeks leading up to Mercury Retrograde where everything starts feeling a little off. Mercury enters retrograde on August 23 where it will appear to move backward in the sign of Virgo until September 14.
More on the Retrograde itself later, now is the time to talk about the shadow period we’re in. Shadow periods feel tricky and sticky. Communication becomes less clear, technology behaves questionably and bad luck is kind of the vibe.
But it’s okay. We experience this often. This is the pattern of life. Energetically it’s a moment to slow down and reflect on what you’re doing.
It’s not all a total bummer this week, over the weekend the Sun is sitting next to Venus in the vibrant sign of Leo. And this is charming. It’s peaceful and harmonious and maybe a tad surface level, but it’s an energetic reprieve encouraging you to flirt and create and play. Just don’t take anything too serious, all this is still happening under Mercury Retroshade
Personal musings
Surprise, we’re not journaling this week. Instead, we’re giving affirmations a moment. This way you won’t lose your shit when things go awry over these next several weeks.
Everything will be okay. I can let go of this.
In the grand scheme of things this is a blip. It won’t matter. I’m over it.
Things are actually working out how they’re meant to. I trust that.
Something going wrong, is protecting me from something going worse in the future.
Or rage journal or yell….just don’t direct it at people.
A question I’m often asked is how did I learn astrology? Truthfully, most was gleaned from early 2000s webpages and now defunct Tumblr pages.
But I always turned to books to back up. For those wanting to learn more about astrology, or those wanting to see my woo credentials, here are the books that shaped my astrology practice.
